This place has some of the best, Hawaiian food I've had off the Hawaiian islands. Good portions, very friendly staff, and amazing food! There are a few tables indoor for seating and a very extensive menu displayed on placards and on the wall, with various combos, and even hamburgers! As well as non-combo, non-rice dishes. I tried the short rib & garlic shrimp combo-- they certainly do not skimp out on the mac salad & rice. The short rib was perfectly caramelized and tender. The garlic shrimp was so good and definitely something I will get again.
Portions, price and food is on point! Food is bomb! Service is good. The people there are very nice. Ambiance is nice - clean, simple. I like the pink & happy vibes. We continue to come back ever since our first visit. We tell all our friends and family about this place. We don't go to any other Hawaiian BBQ food place after coming here. We live 1hr 30minutes away....and whenever we come into town and have an opportunity to stop by we do. The other day we drove into town just to eat here...Thank you guys for the delicious food! We love it! :) FYI: the garlic shrimp is very garlicky- must like garlic. I love garlic so I loved this place so much. My husband isn't a garlic person so it was too intense for him - he said it was very good but it's just not his cup of tea. He sticks to the katsu chicken it's his favorite! But if you like garlic and shrimp this is delicious! It is packed with garlic flavor and garlic bits! I will be ordering this plate again and again. I've ordered garlic shrimp at other places and it disappoints - for me it never has enough garlic flavor. This garlic flavor is on point and the shrimp are a good size - filling & meaty.
If you want the BEST Hawaiian food you've ever had, GO HERE!!! It is consistently good and the staff is always very nice! Highly recommend trying it if you're in the area.
Wanted to get Hawaiian food and saw that I was near Olioli Hawaiian BBQ. My go to is usually Ono and Olioli wasn't that much farther so I decided to try a more local, small owned business instead. It's located on the corner at the end of a small shopping plaza. There's ample seating though it looked like most people opted for take out. I was excited to see that they had garlic shrimp, so I got that combo with the katsu, ordered a fried shrimp and fish with bbq beef combo, and two sides of Mac salad to go. My order was ready within 5 minutes and they also gave me a stamp card for next time. I think the food was really good- the garlic shrimp was definitely the star of the show and was lightly fried with fragrant garlic pieces. It felt authentic to what you'd get from a food truck in islands. I also enjoyed the Mac salad and was glad I ordered extra. I'd definitely come back and order the garlic shrimp again!
Super tasty food. I got the loco moco and it didn't disappoint! It had a really good portion of meat, gravy, and sides. It was a fresh bed of rice with another scoop, along with a scoop of mac salad. It had 2 hamburger steaks, 2 sunny side up eggs, with tons of gravy. The mac salad tasted savory and didn't have the overpowering mayo taste that some places have. The eggs were also cooked perfectly alongside the steaks. I really liked the runny consistency of the gravy and it all tasted really great together.
!! HIDDEN GEM ALERT !! This is one of my new favorite takeout spots in the Bay Area. Holy cow! Even though this is located in a sketchy plaza, I think this business has gained a new regular... The Garlic Shrimp here is phenomenal. I would come here for this alone. They don't skimp on the garlic and the shrimp is perfectly battered. Well balanced and not too oily either. The Mac Salad was surprisingly really good too! Not too much mayo and it didn't over power the rest of the plate. I'm glad I requested two scoops of this :) I also got the Chicken Katsu for my choice of meat and WOOO, it was good. Crispy and crunchy, but the chicken was still tender without being fatty. Well made and they are generous with the katsu sauce!
Honestly, this is the best Hawaiian barbecue and shrimp I have had in the mainland of the USA. The best is from the Hawaiian islands. If you cannot go to Hawaii, this place does the job. The shrimp flavor is on point. Great garlic flavor. Savory as well. There is a slight fried batter on the outside that takes the shrimp to the next level. Very comforting to eat. Really good Hawaiian barbecue beef. I liked the slices. It's thin and easy to eat. Not dry or tough. The flavor is savory and salty. Very good, but it is on the saltier side. A bit heavy by the end of the meal. That is Hawaiian barbecue though. On point. Good mac salad. It does not blow you away, but it is standard. Gets the job done. Passes the tests. Will definitely come back. Food quality is perfect.
For how huge the portions are here I'd say the prices are pretty justified. My boyfriend and I were able to share a regular sized half-and-half combo, and I was incredibly full by the end of it! You could probably even share a smaller size depending on your appetite. Interior is pretty small with limited seating -- just a few tables and chairs. We got the chicken katsu and kalua pork, and both were pretty much textbook for what they should taste like. The katsu had a good crunch and the pork had lots of cabbage mixed in. Mac salad was great as well. Honestly no notes on how the food was prepared, it all tasted as usual for these items and seemed like better quality than some other Hawaiian BBQ chains I've tried. We also tried some of our friend's donuts which were very fresh tasting! Would definitely recommend if you're a fan of fried dough desserts.
Love that there's a good Hawaiian food place so close to me! If we can't decide what to eat, Olioli is always a safe bet. My fiance and his roommates probably come here at least once a week. They have everything you would expect from a Hawaiian food place - the usual katsu, teriyaki, and also loco moco and kalua pig. I've tried most of their rice plates combos, and they're all good! I will say the one item I didn't really like was the saimin. The soup just didn't taste like much to me. But everything else has been very good! I also like that the sides are very customizable. If I'm feeling healthy, I can just get broccoli and rice. If I'm feeling not so healthy, I can get double mac salad. Whichever combo of rice/mac salad/veggies you want, they can do. Also, the protein portions are huge! One regular size rice plate can last me 2-3 meals. I have also catered here for a party and ordered 3 types of musubis. They even cut the musubis in half. It was a hit at the party! It was very easy to call and put in the order. The people who work here are always very nice, and the orders are done pretty quickly. It's easy to order online too, and then you pay in store. Also, make sure to get a stamp card!
